The Town of Hopkinton shares additional details about upcoming activities, entertainment ahead of Saturday's Hopkinton Family Day

Hopkinton Family Day takes place on Saturday for the first time since 2019 — event includes live entertainment, family-friendly activities, food trucks and fireworks

HOPKINTON — Town Manager Norman Kumaro and Friends of Hopkinton President Ann Crick would like to share details of the entertainment and many activities planned for Hopkinton Family Day this weekend.

Hosted by Friends of Hopkinton, Hopkinton Family Day is an exciting family-friendly event featuring live entertainment, fun activities for community members of all ages, and delicious food trucks. A dazzling fireworks display concludes the event.

Community members can enjoy engaging live entertainment and performers throughout the event. Many of them are based locally. Here is the entertainment schedule:

  • Host Ralph opens
  • 2:20pm – 2:50pm — Harini Jeyaraman, Indian classical dance performer
  • 3:00pm to 3:30pm — New Sound Assembly Barbershop Chorus
  • 3:40pm – 4:25pm — Magician Stephen Craig
  • Host Don Takes Over
  • 4:35pm – 5:15pm — Colin and Lily Helihy
  • 5:30pm – 6:30pm — Barbara Kessler
  • 6:40pm – 8:00pm — Steve Spector, Hot Acoustics
  • 8 pm — fireworks start

From 2pm to 6pm, Hopkinton town organizations, non-profits, clubs and businesses offer a wide range of engaging activities. Examples of activities offered by local groups include:

  • Musical instrument tasting and family scarecrow making by Hopkinton Cultural Arts
  • Hopkinton Public Library Story Walk
  • Hopkinton Fire Department Virtual Home Sprinkler Demonstration
  • Ekiden by Girl Scouts
  • Cricket demonstration by the Hopkinton Cricket Club
  • Cornhole by each group in the town
  • Guest magician Stephen Craig demonstrates magic tricks following his stage performance
  • Massive Magnified Brain Showing the Effects of Substance Use on the Brain by Hopkinton Youth and Family Services

Food trucks are available for the duration of the event from 2:00 PM to 8:00 PM until the fireworks show begins around 8:00 PM.

Hopkinton Family Day is free to attend and all activities are free except the food truck.

“Friends of Hopkinton has put together a great schedule for this year’s Family Day event and we are looking forward to bringing our community together to enjoy all the activities and entertainment available for all ages. ‘ said Crick. “On behalf of Friends of Hopkinton, I would like to thank the many dedicated community organizations and performers, as well as our generous sponsors who have been essential to the success of this event.”

The Hopkinton Family Day was last held in 2019. The 2019 event was unable to host a fireworks display due to mosquito risk. The 2020 or 2021 event was not held due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Hopkinton Family Day is coordinated by the Friends of Hopkinton organization. Its goal is to provide community activities that encourage and support the spirit, enthusiasm and pride of the town.
