The region's first Special Education Summit will be held at Sauk Valley Community College – Shaw Local

Illinois Elevating Special Educators will host their first summit for special education professionals in northern Illinois on September 30 at Sauk Valley Community College.

Summit will be held from 8:30am to 3:00pm

Paula Cruz, author of “Don’t We Already Do Inclusion?” is the keynote speaker.

24/7 tutoring

Rock Falls High School offers free online tutoring through available 24/7 for all subjects.

Each student is provided with an account.

Based in Montreal, Canada, was founded in 2014 by two McGill University alumni to provide online instruction.

Dixon Public Schools filled a vacancy on the Community Engagement Committee after Superintendent Margo Empen appealed for recruitment on the district’s website.

The district received eight applicants and filled four vacancies, said Dianne Frye, human resources coordinator and assistant superintendent.

The new members will be announced at the first panel meeting of the school year on Tuesday at 3:30 pm at the district’s office at 1335 Franklin Grove Road.

The Committee normally meets at 3:30 pm on the second Tuesday of every odd month. Future meetings will be held in November, January, March and May.
