Brighton have appointed Roberto De Zerbi as their new head coach on a four-year deal.
The Italian is unemployed after leaving Shakhtar Donetsk in July following Russia’s invasion of Ukraine.He spent three years in charge of Serie A side Sassuolo before moving to Shakhtar.
De Zerbi has been praised for his style of football at Sassuolo, finishing twice eighth in Serie A and winning last year’s Ukrainian Super Cup with Shakhtar.
De Zebri met with chairman Tony Bloom, chief executive Paul Barber and David Weir in London this week before flying to Brighton on Friday before attending a closed-door friendly at Amex on Saturday.
Brighton have also agreed a deal with De Zebri’s coaching team and hope to have a group ready for the Premier League clash with Liverpool every Saturday.
Brighton are currently fourth in the Premier League and are looking for a new manager after Graham Potter joined Chelsea earlier this month.
As a show of respect to the Queen, De Zerbi will not be formally introduced to the media until Tuesday afternoon.

What are De Zerbi’s plans?
The Italian now has two weeks to settle down in Brighton and organize a backroom staff with Premier League players on an international vacation. , can work together.

Brighton will face Premier League champions Manchester City at Eithad on Saturday 22nd October, while former manager Graham Potter and Chelsea will play Amex on Saturday 29th October.
