Co-authors of a recent article in Foreign Affairs, America Might Lose Tech Contest to China, Eric Schmidt and Yul Bajraktari are respectively Chair and CEO of the Special Competitive Research Project (SCSP). The SCSP builds on the work of the “National Security Commission on Artificial Intelligence (NSCAI). The NSCAI completed its work mandated by Congress in October 2021. intelligence, machine learning, and related technologies to comprehensively address the national security and defense needs of the United States.”
SCSP is a non-partisan, non-profit initiative with a clear mission. It is to make recommendations that will strengthen America’s long-term competitiveness for a future in which artificial intelligence (AI) and other emerging technologies reshape national security, economy, and society. Schmidt and Bajraktari begin the article by itemizing what they call a “technical battlefield reactive approach” to China’s challenges to date.
