
Pick them, carve them, or use them in your winter recipes. As fall approaches, the pumpkin fields spread across northeastern Kansas.
Staci Charles, co-owner of the Mulberry Pond Pumpkin Patch, said it’s fun to see families come to the Pumpkin Patch and enjoy the day.
“The best thing is that people get together again to laugh and have fun outdoors. You know, kids aren’t playing video games. It’s healthy for them.”
The Mulberry Pond Pumpkin Patch, located at 2252 Mulberry Road, Hiawatha, is open from September 24th to October 30th.
The farm is open from 10am to 6pm on Saturdays and from 1pm to 6pm on Sundays. Weekdays are reserved for field trips.
Admission is $8, with $1 activity tickets available. Activities include pumpkin slingshots, kiddie barrel train rides and laser tag.
Mulberry Pond isn’t the only fun pumpkin patch.
Here is a list of pumpkin fields within an hour of Topeka during pumpkin picking season. Most of these sites offer corn mazes, hayrides, food, and other activities.

Berry Hill UPick Farm, located at 5840 SE Croco Road in Berryton, is open from 1-7pm on Sundays and on Halloween or “until the pumpkins are sold out.”
From Sunday to Saturday, we are open from 9:00 am to 6:00 pm.
Guests are encouraged to bring their own personal wagon to hold their own selection of pumpkins.
Admission is $2 per person.
Britt’s Garden Acres at 1000 S. Scenic Drive in Manhattan opened its pumpkin patch this Saturday.
The farm is open from 2pm to 7pm Monday through Friday, 9am to 7pm Saturday, and 10am to 6pm Sunday through November 5th.
Admission to the opening weekend is $13. The entrance fee varies depending on the month. Season passes are $35 through September 25th. Tickets are available at brittsfarm.com.

Garry’s Berries, 5991 17th St. in Grantville will be open from 1pm to 10pm on September 30th. According to the calendar on the farm’s website, hours of operation are 10 AM to 10 PM on Saturdays and 10 AM to 6 PM on Sundays through October 30.
A day pass is $16.95 and requires ages 3 and up. A season pass is $38.95. Tickets are available at garysfarmfest.com.
Insane Paine Produce, 3227 NE Seward Ave. in Topeka has been open since July, serving tomatoes, cucumbers, zucchini, cantaloupe and watermelon.
On Friday, the farm added pumpkins and mama to the production line.
Open every Saturday from 10am to 2pm.
There is no admission fee, but pumpkins can cost anywhere from $1 to $30 depending on size.
Little Munchkins Pumpkin Patch at 29583 Low Water N. Road in Alma is open for the season on Saturdays.
The Pumpkin Patch will be open from 10am to 6pm on Saturdays and from 11am to 6pm on Sundays, Patch said on its Facebook page.
Admission is $10 for children ages 2-16 and $5 for adults.

Meuschake Farms at 11722 246th Road in Lawrence will open September 24th with 20 different varieties of pumpkins to choose from.
The farm is open daily from 9am to sunset through October 31st.
Admission to the farm is free.
Reese Fruit Farm on 2476 K-4 Hwy in Topeka will have pumpkins ready for picking by October 1st.
Rees is open Monday through Friday from 10am to 6pm, Saturday from 9am to 6pm, and Sunday from 11am to 6pm.
Rees in October is open Saturdays from 9am to 8pm.

Schaake’s Pumpkin Patch at 1791 North 1500 Road in Lawrence will be open October 1-30.
Schaake’s is open from noon to 6pm Monday through Friday and 9am to 6pm on weekends.
Admission to Schaake’s is free.
The Great Pumpkin Farm, located at 14805 190th Road in Mayetta, opens on Saturday and remains open through October 31st.
The farm is open Sunday and Tuesday through Saturday from 10am to 6pm.
