Esko and GMG have partnered to provide a new connection between GMG’s profiling and color prediction solution, GMG OpenColor, and Esko’s native prepress editing software, ArtPro+. The connector will be released in November 2022.

This collaboration aims to meet the demand for highly automated and globally connected color management solutions.

The new ArtPro+ GMG OpenColor Connector creates a smoother and more efficient color conversion process for packaging and label printers, trade shops and premedia houses, enhancing connectivity and data exchange between two productive solutions. This integration ensures uninterrupted file processing and color conversion without losing mission-critical metadata between systems, allowing both solutions to work at their best.

Geert de Proost, Director of Product Management at Esko, said: “Therefore, it was very satisfying for him to work with GMG on this project and for each customer he was able to provide a solid data connection between the two leading solutions.

“Manually reseparating images and artwork to meet brand color accuracy demands can be a laborious and error-prone process,” he adds. You can now accurately visualize before-and-after color and assess color deviations on-screen with accurate Delta E readings. ”

Rainer Schmitt, Head of Product Development at GMG, commented: Better integration of his GMG technology within Esko solutions is one of the most frequently reported requests he receives from our mutual customers. By focusing on a frictionless user experience connecting Esko ArtPro+ with his GMG OpenColor, our partnership starts with delivering great value to our customers. GMG and Esko will continue to explore areas of collaboration to further simplify our customers’ workflows. ”

This new connector offers a wide range of benefits for customers using ArtPro+ and GMG OpenColor. This includes creating standardized and automated processes for color matching and reseparation of multicolor images and vector data, eliminating manual work, reducing risk of error, and saving money. Up to 60 minutes of operator time per job. In addition, ArtPro+ can change colors, making it easier and faster to add edits to files after converting for multicolor process printing. By standardizing color conversion using GMG’s extended-spectrum color technology, you can improve color accuracy when printing.

“At Esko, we know our printers and their brand customers want 100% color assurance,” said de Proost. “We have always maintained an open system, which is why we continue to invest in technology partnerships and research and development to achieve the color consistency and quality they demand. Working with partners such as GMG It underlines our commitment to bring new innovations to market.”
