Walsall 1-1 Stevenage - BBC Sport

featured image

Danny Rose’s 100th minute equalizer saved Stevenage with a dramatic point from Steve Evans.

Walsall led most of the game with Danny Johnson’s fifth goal in four games, but Rose scored home with Arthur Reed’s deep cross at the far post in the last minute of the added 10th. Sent.

Loan striker Johnson was continuing a great start to his career at Walsall by giving Saddlers a 13th-minute lead after Stevenage failed to clear a long throw.

Jamie Reed nearly pushed the visitor level through Dan Sweeney’s low cross, but was held back by Owen Evans’ spectacular diving one-hand stop near post.

Walsall had a chance to seal a point after the break, but Johnson could only poke a low Andy Williams cross in the stretch.

Stevenage came close with Reed jumping on a mix-up between Peter Clarke and Evans, the keeper staying wide and only making a good save, but he died on a header by Rose.
