Crawley Town 2-3 Northampton Town

featured image

Substitute Kieron Bowie scored a dramatic stoppage time win as Northampton secured their third win in four League Two games, beating winless Crawley 3-2.

James Baragizi gave the hosts an early lead, but Sam Hoskins scored twice in a row to put the Cobblers ahead midway through the half.

Baragizi equalized an hour later, but Bowie solved the problem in the first minute of injury time by hitting the roof of the net off a Hoskins pass.

Crowley went into the game desperately to end a fruitless run that had gone scoreless in six of their seven league games, with Baragizi getting off to a perfect start in just four minutes.

The recalled Liverpool loaner headed the ball home from close range after Ashley Nadesan’s low cross.

The Cobblers equalized in the 13th minute, when Tom Nichols attempted a clear before Wideman’s Hoskins fired from just inside the area, marking the Cobblers’ 300th appearance.

Hoskins scored again ten minutes later, scoring his fifth goal of the season from a free-kick 25 yards from the goal directly into the bottom corner.

The same player ventured again shortly after the break, cutting inside and immediately firing a deflected shot.

Former Northampton Sunderland keeper Lee Burgi held off a hard-hitting Nadesan before Crawley leveled with Balagizi in the 61st minute.

Nadesan could have done better when he was put through by Baragizi, but he shot meekly at the barge and Bowie won it in the second half.
