in a recent episode pod meets world, Podcast hosted by Daniel Fishel, rider strongWhen Will Friedlea former co-star spoke about the awkward experience of filming intimate scenes as a young actor.
In the episode, Friedl played Eric Matthews, recalled his first on-screen kiss, filmed when he was 17 years old. “The script said, ‘And they kiss…a good kiss,'” said the now 46-year-old actor. Friedl also reflected on playing one of the show’s heartthrobs who dated many girls, describing it as “terribly uncomfortable” and “really creepy”. buzzfeed news.
“Everyone says, ‘Oh, I can kiss all those girls!’ But it’s not as great as you think,” he said in the episode airing Thursday. “It’s really gross and uncomfortable. Doing it in front of an audience and hearing people say ‘woo’ is really uncomfortable.” ”

The former castmates also made a point of addressing the “power divide” going on between them as regular actors and the guest actors brought in for the kiss.

Strong then talked about how much he got from the intimacy coordinator at the time, and his co-host agreed with this.
“The intimacy coordinator role makes a lot of sense to me,” he said. A director or producer has the experience and the nuanced tone needed for that situation.”
“Having someone assigned just to navigate it with the actors is great and I think it’s an essential role,” Friedl opened up.
“I shouldn’t have said, ‘I don’t want to do this. I feel bad,'” added Fishel. “You’re a prop. As an actor, you say the words and do what’s written on the page. No questions asked.”
Strong added, “It’s very difficult to have autonomy as a child actor. It’s so unhealthy.”
Friedl, Strong and Fischel launched “Pod Meets World” in June. Each week they rewatch an episode of the show they haven’t seen since his ’90s and analyze it from an adult’s perspective.
