Columbia State University Announces 20th Performance Series Act | Entertainment

Columbia State Community College has announced the artist roster for its 20th Annual First Farmers Performance Series season.

“We are so excited about our 20th season of Performance Series.

Opening night on October 13th will feature Jason Catron.

Catron started singing at the age of two. His first song was “Jesus Loves Me” at the small church in Kentucky where he grew up. He recently released his first single “King of The Road” from his new project “The Nashville Songbook”. This was a long-time dream record, with Catron singing songs from his childhood roots, The Great American and his Country Songbooks. When he admired singers like Frank Sinatra and Tony Bennett.

The November 10 event will feature Jake Hoot, season 17 champion of NBC’s The Voice.

After his record-breaking win with “The Voice”, Hoot released several tracks, including “Tennessee Strong”, which reached the top 10 on the iTunes Country Singles chart. His debut single “Dangerous Thing”. A special Father’s Day song “Best Job I Ever Had”. Heartwarming love song “Nadine”. A rowdy summer anthem, “Night Left.” and a duet with his wife “Wherever Time Goes”. Taking inspiration from his childhood in the Dominican Republic, Hoot released a cover of “La Bamba” from his debut EP, which charted in the top 10 of the iTunes Latin charts.

On December 8th, Jamie Paul and Ralph Shires will return for the Holiday Season Performance Series. They are internationally acclaimed artists who make old songs shine while transforming legendary music into the current obsession of today’s music lovers.

Paul began his career as a first-call studio singer, then performed live as a backing vocalist for the likes of Wynonna and Kelly Clarkson. Shires’ career flourished working with artists as diverse as Kelly Clarkson, Jack White, Shania Twain, Barry Gibb and Wanda Jackson, and was part of one of the most influential horn sections in music history, the Memphis Band. I’ve also worked with Horns. Paul and Shires are reinventing the classic for a new generation of music lovers.

Appearing on February 9th is singer, trombonist, songwriter and performer Aubrey Logan.

She lives an unconventional life, which makes it difficult to define. While she is still known as a world-class singer and instrumentalist, she has revealed that there is much more to her talent than that.

The series will conclude on April 20th with Bob Eubanks’ Backstage with the Beatles, providing great entertainment value for Beatles fans and music lovers alike.

The show presents unheard stories, rare video footage, stills, special effects, and what it was like to experience The Beatles in concert, from Eubanks’ experiences during the Beatles’ tour of America in the early 1960s. It consists of items that help you understand what was. Every Eubanks story leads to a hit song that best represents the subject matter discussed and the era in which the story took place.

New season tickets go on sale August 8 for $135 each, plus tax. Individual tickets go on sale Aug. 18 and are $30 plus tax for adults and $20 plus tax for Columbia State students.

On the night of the performance, the box office opens at 6:00 p.m. at the Kenneth and Ramona Cherry Theater in the Waymon L. Hickman Building on the Columbia campus. Doors open at 6:30pm and all shows start at 7pm. The Columbia campus is located at 1665 Hampshire Pike, Columbia.
